Arkansas Football: ‘Liz Honey’ Releases New Song (VIDEO)

August 25th, 2014| by

Arkansas superfan “Liz Honey” is back with a new video, channeling Beverly Hills Cop in her latest musical ode to the Razorbacks.

Honey, a lifelong Arkansan whose real name is Liz McDaniel, became a YouTube sensation nearly two years ago after her Hogs-centric cover of “United We Stand” by The Brotherhood of Man — released in the wake No. 8 Arkansas’ shocking loss to Louisiana-Monroe in early September 2012 — went viral.

Since then Honey has produced an intermittent stream of covers and original tunes about Arkansas, always clad in her Hogs hat and nose appropriately taped back. She dropped her latest track, a cover of Glenn Frey’s “The Heat is On,” on Sunday in advance of the season.

As always, her singing voice isn’t terrific, but her spirit is. Here’s to the Hogs notching at least one SEC victory this season for Liz Honey to hang her Hog hat on.
