Georgia State FB Unveils New Uniforms

All signs point to Georgia State football having a rocky debut season in the FBS and Sun Belt Conference after going 1-10 last fall. But thanks to some impressive new uniforms, they’ll at least look good on the gridiron — even if their win-loss record is less than stellar.
Gone are the blue-and-white (home) and white-and-blue (away) jerseys with “Panthers” splashed across it, which resembled something a high school team would wear. Those have been replaced by much more FBS-worthy jerseys that sport more modern-looking numbering and typeface. In addition, the Panthers get the same Nike Flywire collars that most NFL teams have.
The biggest upgrade of all is to the helmets. The previous “GSU” model – which will apparently still be in rotation – that Georgia State football used since its first season in 2010 looked amateur. The new gleaming black lids with “Panthers” in a handsome, blue-and-red outlined script is bona fide.
Georgia State understands something very important about transitioning to the FBS: If you want to play with the big boys, you have to look the part. Grade: A-
