Gillispie Called 911 Fearing Heart Attack

No matter how rough you think your Friday was, Billy Gillispie’s was worse.
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, the Texas Tech men’s basketball coach called 911 at approximately 5 AM on August 31, saying he was in extreme pain and fearing either a heart attack or stroke.
“It was the worse I ever felt,” said Gillispie, who was hospitalized with dangerously high blood pressure.
Gillispie attributes his health scare to stress. Yet he told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal on Friday that he was unaware of reports that his Red Raider players had met with school officials to raise concerns that Gillespie had mistreated them.
Frankly, we doubt that the latter had nothing to do with the former.
