Gov’t Shutdown Jeopardizes AFA-Navy

If you thought the U.S. government shutdown wouldn’t have any affect on college football, think again.
Saturday’s Air Force-Navy game is now in doubt due to the fact that much of the Falcons’ support staff is classified as civil-service employees. As a result, they would not be eligible to travel from Colorado Springs, CO, to Annapolis, MD, for the game, according to a report in the Colorado Springs Gazette.
Additionally, upper-class cadets at Air Force are considered military personnel and might be subject to similar travel restrictions.
It’s just one of the many things in doubt following the suspension of all intercollegiate athletics at the service academies.
Hey Washington: Get your act together!
