Kingsbury Leaves Funny Note for Players

May 8th, 2013| by

One of the advantages of new Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury being 33 years old is his ability to understand the mindset of 18- to 22-year-old young men — an ability to empathize that was on full, hilarious display with the note he left for Red Raider players prior to their departure for summer break.

“We advise you to be active over the break as you will need to be ready to work once June rolls around,” Kingsbury wrote. “Sitting at the house playing COD (“Call of Duty”)/2K13 (“NBA 2K13”)/Madden against 12 year olds online doesn’t suffice as activity even if you claim to ‘wreck shop’. #BOOM #COMEATME”

And here we were thinking that Kingsbury singing along to “Juicy” by Biggie Smalls at practice would represent his high point of swag.
