MSU Spartan Statue Defaced ‘UM Style’ - Lost Lettermen

MSU Spartan Statue Defaced ‘UM Style’

April 21st, 2013| by

The back-and-forth prank war between fans of Michigan and Michigan State continues.

Early Saturday morning, the Spartan statue at the entrance to MSU’s athletic neighborhood was defaced with a yellow, Michigan block “M” painted on the chest and the Spartans’ helmet painted to resemble the Wolverines’ famous winged football lid.

It was just a month ago, you may recall, since the last time the iconic Spartan statue was vandalized. Prior to MSU’s Round of 64 NCAA tournament game against Valparaiso, the statue was decorated with Valpo paraphernalia.

Clearly there are no off-days in this intense, intrastate rivalry.
