NCAA: Ware Can’t Accept ‘Get Well’ Gifts
May 21st, 2013| by Lost Lettermen
Since his horrific broken leg injury in the Elite Eight, Louisville guard Kevin Ware has received many gifts from well-wishing fans. As documented by Yahoo! Sports, they have included gum, silly putty, motivational books, gift cards, a box of t-shirts and small amounts of cash.
Under NCAA rules, Ware is prohibited from accepting any of it.
Thus, among the hundreds of letters sent to Ware c/o the university, there is an entire bin full of mail that has been flagged “Return to Sender” by Louisville’s compliance office. Naturally, this was to the great consternation of the Twittersphere.
My son also just told me about Kevin Ware being forced to return get well gifts- he’s outraged compares NCAA to IRS inflexwetrust.com/2013/05/18/nca…

Kevin Ware has to give back the cash gifts he’s received while Rick Pitino can supplement his income shows the hypocrisy of the NCAA.
