New Memphis Home Court Up to Fan Vote
June 14th, 2013| by Lost Lettermen
In advance of a 2013–2014 season in which it has aspirations of playing deep into March, Memphis men’s basketball is leaving it up to the fans to determine the court that the Tigers will play on.
Between now and June 24th, fans are invited to vote on one of four different court designs. Unlike the vote on the Tigers’ new football uniforms, this isn’t restricted to Memphis alums — anyone can cast their vote.
“Our fans are as passionate as any in the country, and this allows them the opportunity to take part in the design process,” AD Terry Bowen said on Memphis’ athletics website. “A new floor, a new conference and a terrific home schedule, coupled with a promising team, will make this a season to remember.”
Among the four options, our favorite is the one that boasts both a silhouette of the Memphis cityscape in the background and a rendering of the Hernando de Soto Bridge in the foreground. Go big or go home, right?
