Paul George Buys All 15,600 Fresno Tix

October 31st, 2013| by

One of Paul George’s first major purchases after signing a five-year contract extension with the Indiana Pacers in September – one that’s expected to be worth $90 million – was to give back to his college team, Fresno State, in a big way.

In advance of the Bulldogs’ home opener against Cal State-Northridge, George bought up every available seat in FSU’s home arena, the 15,596-seat Save Mart Center. Anyone who wants to attend the game can print out this voucher and redeem it at the arena’s ticket office for one ticket each. (All season ticket holders will have their same seats for the opener.)

This is a pretty brilliant – and generous – move on George’s part, as one outlet estimated he spent $265,000 on the tickets.

Here’s hoping that he starts a movement among NBA stars looking to give back to their alma maters.
