Texas A&M AD Takes Shot at Alabama

It sounds like the swagger perpetually displayed by Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel has rubbed off on Aggies athletic director Eric Hyman.
Speaking at a Brazos County (TX) A&M Club dinner on Thursday night, Hyman got the crowd going with this gem.
Eric Hyman to the crowd at BCA&M Coach’s Night: “What does the moon and Texas A&M have in common? We control the Tide.”

As far as jokes and/or comments at other teams’ expense go, this one is pretty harmless (not to mention a clever play on words). Nonetheless, Aggies head coach Kevin Sumlin was diplomatic in response to his boss’ joke when he later took the podium.
Sumlin just received a standing ovation. His response to Hyman? ‘No pressure, Eric. Thank you.’ — Brent Zwerneman (@BrentZwerneman) June 14, 2013
Hyman’s confidence comes from A&M beating the national champs in Tuscaloosa last season, 29-24. The stakes for the Texas A&M-Alabama rematch in College Station on Sept. 14th just got a little higher.
