Texas Fans Create ‘Saban 2014’ Shirts

Texas head coach Mack Brown might want to avoid looking into the stands for the rest of the year.
Longhorn fans were selling “Saban 2014” shirts in burnt orange on Saturday prior to UT’s game against Kansas State following reports that Alabama head coach Nick Saban’s agent met with a current and former Texas regent last January. Saban responded to the rumors by saying, “I’m just too damn old to start over somewhere else.” But then again, he also repeatedly said he wouldn’t take the Alabama head job while he was with the Miami Dolphins – until he suddenly took the Crimson Tide job in 2007.
The shirts are going for $15 a piece and there’s even a website, Saban2014.com, “dedicated to the advancement of Longhorn football” with a picture of Saban in a burnt orange jacket and tie.
While Texas fans are justified in wanting a regime change after the Longhorns have slumped to mediocrity in the last couple seasons, this sure is a sad way to see Brown go out after playing in two BCS title games and winning it all in 2005.
