Utes Retire Majerus’ Trademark Sweater

Any Utah basketball fan in need of a reminder of what Rick Majerus meant to the Utes basketball program now need only look to the rafters of the Huntsman Center.
Prior to Saturday’s home game against Colorado, Utah retired Majerus’ trademark white sweater, which the late coach sported on the sidelines for many of the 323 victories he led the Utes to between 1989 and 2004.
We were wondering how this tribute would look after it was announced in early December. (In all honesty, it sounded a little odd at the time.) Now, we can honestly say that the banner of the sweater looks very much in place hanging next to the No. 44 of arguably Majerus’ brightest star, Keith Van Horn.
