Weis Mandates KU Kicker Free-for-All

If you are a University of Kansas student, have NCAA eligibility and the ability to kick a football 70 yards, you have the chance to play for your beloved Jayhawks!
New football coach Charlie Weis announced open auditions for a kickoff specialist for the upcoming season. Ron Doherty is in line to handle punting and kicking duties, and Weis wants to avoid wearing out his leg.
“Out of 30,000 people at this school, there’s got to be somebody that can kick the ball out of the end zone,” Weis told the Topeka Capital-Journal.
Conference rival Texas Tech used walk-on Matt Williams — who was chosen for a fan field-goal contest at random — as a PAT kicker during its near-perfect regular season in 2008, and LSU is giving former Tigers women’s goalkeeper Mo Isom a look during fall camp this year.
If Isom fails to catch on in Baton Rouge, she might want to pack her bags for Lawrence, KS.
